L'histoire

France Crispeels was born in the Congo to Belgian parents. The family returned to Belgium, settling in the then-rural Walloon Brabant region. They valued nature, tranquility, local produce, and good food, and were already committed to organic practices.

After studying architecture in Brussels, France pursued a career as a screenwriter before working as an agent for visual artists in Paris.

In the early 2000s, around the time her son was born, France moved to Marseille. Passionate about wine, she began a work-study program in viticulture and oenology at estates in Provence.

After travelling extensively across France to meet winemakers committed to biodynamics, she was captivated by the beauty and diversity of the Roussillon landscapes and the region's agrarian culture. She decided to settle in Cassagnes.

Her fascination with the interplay between humanity, wine, and nature deepened, accompanied by a special affinity for "living wines."

France started out as a newcomer to the region, driven by the ambition to produce fine wines, showcase the local *terroirs*, and respect the environment.

Why make wine? To share in the responsibility of cultivation and to understand what that truly means.

Philosophie

The emergence of an alternative movement in viticulture and oenology during the 2000s introduced a gentler, more sustainable approach to vineyard management and winemaking.

With this in mind, France has focused its work on organic farming principles from the very beginning, while also incorporating biodynamic practices. Furthermore, early adoption of soil-conserving farming practices—such as sowing cover crops and selecting a vineyard site with a preserved natural environment...

The estate is also pursuing a project to integrate agroforestry into the vineyards as a means of crop diversification and to significantly boost biodiversity and enhance the landscape.

Vignoble Réveille is located in Cassagnes, Roussillon, at an altitude of 400 meters on gneiss soils.

The estate currently covers 5 hectares (expanding to 11 hectares by 2025).

We are committed to producing natural wines from local grape varieties that reflect the unique character of the terroir within the Mediterranean climate. Our goal is to create wines that are fresh, vibrant, easy-drinking, saline, and—above all—straightforward and precise.

We preserve a natural environment of *garrigue* and wild forest around our vineyards.
Certified organic farming, biodynamic practices, and natural winemaking.
