Work with us

A message from the winemakers of Vivan

We're the people behind your wine. We are independent growers across Europe. We farm small plots by hand, without chemicals, and we try to leave our soil healthier than we found it.

For small growers like us, getting wine to people who care about it has usually meant going through importers and distributors who take most of the value. So we built Vivan, a cooperative we co-own that answers only to its members.

Now we need people who want to make the change with us.

What we're fighting for

"To make regenerative farming the standard for winemakers and the first choice for conscious drinkers."

And it's not just words:

Vivan is a non-profit cooperative, registered with the FCA (Society No. 5506). It's a Certified Social Enterprise and a member of Co-operatives UK and the Slow Wine Coalition. No investors, no shareholders, and one member, one vote.

More winemakers are knocking on the door

New growers from Austria and Switzerland have just asked to join us. Here's why:

"There are just way too many middlemen in the wine trade that prevent wine lovers from accessing their favourite wines at a fair price."

— Hoss Hauksson, Hauksson Weine, Aargau 🇨🇭 (biodynamic, with dwarf sheep grazing between the vines)

"I was thrilled to learn about this program, as I do something similar… 100% of the sales proceeds went to the wineries. I didn't take any cut."

— Chris Sciacca, Kapitel Zwei, Kremstal 🇦🇹 (on the Paris pop-up where he sold wine for 50 Austrian wineries)

Every new grower needs their story told, their wines listed and their bottles shipped. That's where you come in. Every hour you give us is an hour we can spend in the vineyard instead of behind a laptop.

Roles we need right now

  • Sommeliers. Taste our wines with us, help write tasting notes, and advise on food pairings and which bottles belong in which case.

  • Vineyard reporters. Visit our growers and capture their world: interviews, photos and short videos from the vines and the cellar. You'll bring back the stories that end up on our site, social media and newsletter. This suits you if you live near, or already travel to, wine regions in France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany or the UK.

  • Tasting hosts. Pour our wines at tastings, pop-ups, salons and private events, and tell the stories behind each bottle.

  • Content & storytelling. Turn what our vineyard reporters bring back into social posts, reels, journal articles and newsletters.

  • Tech & Shopify. Keep the shop fast, clean and easy to buy from.

  • Sales & partnerships. Get our wines into independent bars, restaurants and wine shops.

  • Logistics & operations. Help bottles travel smoothly from our cellars to your door.

  • Translators. Help us speak to drinkers and growers in French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Don't see your skill? Apply anyway and tell us what you'd bring.

From volunteer to co-owner

  • 1. Volunteer and create value. Bring your skills to one of the roles above.

  • 2. You get hired first. When Vivan creates a paid position, volunteers who have made a real contribution are first in line. No headhunters.

  • 3. Become a co-owner. Paid staff can become employee-members of the cooperative, with an equal vote alongside us winemakers. One person, one vote.

A great place to work

Once you join the paid team, here's what we promise each other:

  • A 4-day week. We work hard and efficiently, and then we rest. That means three full days off every week. No burnout culture.

  • Work from anywhere. As long as you have an internet connection and keep your commitments to the collective, you can work from a cottage in Scotland, a flat in London or a café in Spain.

  • Real flexibility. Nobody watches a clock. You set your hours so you can show up for your family, your health and your mind.

  • In the dirt with us. You won't just look at spreadsheets. You'll walk our vineyards, stand in our cellars, taste from the barrel and come with us to natural wine salons across Europe.

🎯 Make the change: support independent winemakers

We don't care about polished CVs. We care about your drive, your skills, and whether you believe in our Theory of Change.

Help small growers farm regeneratively and get their wine to people who care.
